April temperatures in Banff typically range from approximately −3°C to 9°C (27°F to 48°F). Mountain weather can change quickly, and snow is still common at this time of year.
Conference attire is business casual. Banff in April can bring everything from sunshine to snow. We recommend packing layers so you can easily adjust for changing temperatures and indoor meeting spaces.If you plan to explore Banff or take part in any outdoor activities during your stay, winter gear is highly recommended, including a warm jacket, hat, gloves and appropriate footwear.
Banff National Park is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, and you may spot elk, deer, bighorn sheep, coyotes and other animals during your visit. Bears also live in the park and may begin becoming more active in the spring.Please remember that all wildlife is wild and should be viewed from a safe distance. Stay on designated pathways and trails, never approach or attempt to interact with wildlife, and never feed wildlife — even if an animal appears comfortable around people.If you encounter wildlife, give it plenty of space and follow all posted Parks Canada signage and instructions.
